Identity and Purpose
A forum for philosophical inquiry and cultural understanding
Universitas: Monthly Review of Philosophy and Culture (哲學與文化月刊) is a peer-reviewed scholarly periodical devoted to the study of philosophy, culture and the diverse fields of the humanities. It provides an intellectually open forum for original research, interpretation, criticism and comparative discussion across Chinese, Asian, Western and global traditions.
The journal approaches philosophy not as an isolated discipline but as a living form of inquiry that interacts with history, literature, religion, political thought, art, cultural memory, education and social life. It welcomes scholarship that combines conceptual precision with historical awareness and that contributes to a deeper understanding of human values, institutions, creativity and experience.
Particular attention is given to research that promotes dialogue between classical sources and contemporary questions, between local intellectual traditions and international scholarship, and between philosophy and adjacent humanistic disciplines. Through thematic issues and general research contributions, the journal supports the preservation, critical examination and renewal of philosophical and cultural heritage.
